Mulberry is a group of over five hundred women weavers from five ethnic groups in the north-eastern Indian state of Assam seeking to improve their lives and livelihoods in conditions of high stress and flux through weaving. The illustration was used for displaying on tools used for their outreach initiatives. Settled in Assam, these initiatives are mainly where Mulberry gets to communicate who they are and what they do. Their weave is mainly made on borders, which becomes the weaver’s life. These faces are of the oldest weavers working at Mulberry, weaving their sorrows and joys.
