"Up and down and up and down, First pink, then yellow, then green, then brown.”
The project entailed a series of illustrations for a blog dedicated to kaarigars (trans.: craftsmen), who are an indispensable part of the growing fashion industry. With little credit that is awarded to them, the quality of their lives has failed to improve. Spending their lives learning the craft, they can now barely sustain their families by practicing it. Created on Photoshop, the portrait of the kaarigar is created with the same meticulous stitch, as he creates on the textile. Without him, the industry wouldn't be the same, yet he spends his life in the shadows leading a dark meager life.
