A social media initiative that ran on various platforms such as Instagram, Behance, Facebook, “Folks in Folk Art” aimed at increasing the presence of folk art amongst my followers and friends on such channels. Instead of posting mere images of folk art, the idea was to make it relatable. Hence, people in my common circles were recreated in the characteristic styles of traditional art. The initiative was created post a survey which made the lack of awareness about traditional art very evident. From different states, different forms were chosen to draw different people. Social media allowed easy circulation of the drawings which were digitally created on Autodesk Sketchbook.
